Hi and welcome to The History Company!

What?
Join me on a fun, informal and informative walking tour in the city of Delft. Whenever I have friends or family over from abroad, I take them to this quintessentially Dutch city. There is so much to see! Important: my tour does not contain any stuffy historical facts. However, if you like stories about for example royal intrigue, violent women’s riots or the quartering of a mad murderer, you have come to the right place.
Who?
My name is Iris, I am a historian and have been giving guided tours since 2010. I studied history at Leiden University, the oldest university in the Netherlands. I love telling people interesting stories about the past and hope to show them that history isn’t boring! Besides my obvious love of all things history I would say I have three other big passions; travelling, eating cake and dancing.
Where?
During the tour we will walk past some of the highlights of the city. Please visit this page if you would like a taste of all the famous tourist attractions on offer. However, we will also go off the beaten track. As a local, I will be able to show you some of the hidden treasures of the inner city. Also, if you want advice on where to eat, drink or shop, I am more than happy to help you out.
